Resume
I earned a BA from Scripps and an MA from Claremont Graduate University. Afterwards I was fortunate to be able to work at the fine arts atalier, La Guilde Graphique, in Montreal for two years, where I honed my etching skills.
Moving back to California, I exhibited and sold my etchings both nationally & internationally. I have taught printmaking and children’s art, worked in the art department of a national newsmagazine, and as a designer/art director for major computer companies.
After retiring from art director work, I studied writing with Al Young (former California poet laureate), Ursula le Guin and Jane Yolen (among others). But, true to my visual art background, I was never satisfied with separating images from the stories I wanted to tell.
Then I stumbled into book arts. There I am able to combine words, images and kinetic structures. My artist books are exhibited internationally. They are included in the library special collections of: Harvard, Yale, Stanford, UCLA, Berkeley, University of Washington, University of Denver, Emory, Baylor, SCAD, UC Riverside (among others), and of course Scripps’ Dennison library.
